Equality

This page is dedicated to the community supporting us and to people from low-income, and impoverished neighborhoods. We are extremely passionate about creating a law that will the first in a series that does not criminalize or disproportionately harm people of color. We want you to help us decide how to enforce this in a way that won't cause serious harm.

"There has not been a instance where a bill has affected me disproportionately but I have seen indigenous people, minorities, and low income families be affected by a lot of legislations. It is unfair to see people getting targeted because of what ethnicity they are or where they live or how much they make a year. It also hurts to see some of my peers I go to school with, families I know are affected disproportionately by a lot of these bills and legislations." - Anonymous

"I was affected by the voter id registration legislation. Voter ID laws deprive many voters of their right to vote, reduce participation, and stand in direct opposition to our country’s trend of including more Americans in the democratic process. A lot of Americans do not have one of the forms of identification states acceptable for voting and most of the time these voters are disproportionately low-income, racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and people with disabilities. I fell under the racial and ethnic minority and voting has been something that I have not been able to do because of this legislation. It hurts to know that because I am under the category of "ethnic minority" my American rights are infringed upon."- Anonymous
